National Suicide Prevention Week was held between September 5th and 11th.
It was at this time that two-time Grammy award winner and New York Times bestseller, Lecrae shared his experiences.
The gospel rap superstar explained that he had been a victim of crippling depression. He posted a video where he discussed his issues with depression on his YouTube Channel.
Lecrae’s Battle With Depression
In his YouTube video, Lecrae disclosed that he was a survivor of verbal, physical, and sexual abuse. He went further to explain how he woke in clinical depression after a night of drinking in 2018.
The video also explains how the things he suffered as a child affected him. He further discusses how he dealt with these deep wounds and steer himself towards personal restoration.
According to Lecrae, “if you are at the deep end, don’t drown.” Don’t forget that God created you for a purpose and he has a plan for your life. God’s arrangement for you is beyond your challenges so don’t let those challenges get the better of you.
