America’s Got Talent is a talent show competition that is part of Got Talent Franchise that was created by Simon Cowell.
The show is often referred to as AGT and is broadcast on NBC. Year after year, people come to audition for a slot on the show. Something incredible happened in June as a graduate of Liberty University earned the much-coveted “Golden Buzzer” during her auditions. She performed an original song in the most amazing way that Simon Cowell was in tears by the time she was done.
Her Performance
The 30-year-old Jane Marczewski, whose stage name is “Nightbirde,” performed an original song titled “It’s OK.” Her performance didn’t just earn her the golden buzzer, she had everyone in the audience standing in awe before she was done. Cowell couldn’t hold back his emotions and said, “your voice is absolutely stunning.”
In her song, Marczewski explained the story of her life over the last year. She’s been battling cancer. According to her, her doctor discovered that she had cancer in her liver, spine, and lungs during a recent medical checkup.
Taking it further, she said that we can’t wait for our hardships to be over before deciding to be happy. Her words have been a source of inspiration to people all over the world with several people reposting them on social media.
The Judges’ Reactions
Shortly after her song, Cowell did the unexpected, he gave her the “Golden Buzzer.” What does this mean? She’s automatically into the semi-finals. Little wonder why Marczewski was down on her knees in shock as the stage was showered with golden confetti.
Howie Mandel, another Judge on AGT, couldn’t hide how impressed he was as well. He gushed about how her performance was the “most authentic” he’d experienced all season long. Before her performance, she said it was important to her that everyone knew that she was more than all the bad things that she had experienced.
With a beautiful smile on her face, she told the world that her chances of survival were barely two percent. According to Marczewski, two percent was better than zero percent. The AGT host, Terry Crews told her that she was the voice everyone needed to listen to this year.
Jane Marczewski graduated in 2013 from the Christian School and she was profiled in the Liberty Journal in 2019. She discusses her battle with cancer as well as her faith via her website. One of her most popular posts is titled “God is on the Bathroom Floor.” The video of her performance has hit over 26.6 million views on YouTube as of the time of writing this post.
