If you are into faith-based movies, you must have come across the moviemaking brothers, Stephen and Alex Kendrick.
The duo has produced several top movies such as Fireproof, War Room, Courageous, and Overcomer. They have announced that they will be releasing two movies this fall and both will focus on “Fatherhood.”
The first movie is titled “Show me the Father.” It is a documentary, the first from the duo, and it highlights inspirational stories of several earthly fathers. The documentary marries these stories with several biblical truths about God as a father.
Release Date
According to Sony Pictures, “Show me the Father” will be released alongside “Courageous Legacy” in the fall. The documentary premiers in nationwide theaters on 10 September 2021.
Stephen Kendrick, the executive producer, explains that while we all have a “father story,” not all of us have learned to use it to our advantage. He further discloses that they wanted to transcend the regular documentaries to show the world that God is a perfect Father.
The second movie is a re-mastered re-release of Courageous, a classic from the movie-releasing duo. It is titled “Courageous Legacy” and it will be released in nationwide theaters on 15 October 2021.
The director, Alex Kendrick, said that they have been humbled by the acceptance Courageous received all over the world. They said that releasing these movies has been on their hearts.
Who’s appearing?
When a new movie is heralded, we always want to know who is appearing. To save us from the suspense, the director of photography of this production, Jon Melton put up a post on social media.
So who’s appearing? The social media post revealed that Eddie George, the Heisman-Trophy-winning ex-NFL running back. Also making an appearance is the pastor of Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship, Dr. Tony Evans. Evans is also the father of popular Christian best-selling author and speaker, Priscilla Shirer.
Shirer is also an actress and she has appeared in two of the brothers’ hit movies, Overcomer and War Room. Based on the social media post, it is almost certain that she will also appear in the documentary along with her three siblings.
The brothers, Alex and Stephen, will also appear. Why shouldn’t they? They both have six children and will be discussing their fatherhood stories.
